Using this website.

Everything here is published in good faith and kept accurate as far as we’re able. We don’t publish prices, because what the work costs depends on the business it’s for. Any figure we put in front of you in writing stands until we tell you otherwise. Nothing on this website is a contract, and nothing here is an offer that binds either of us until we’ve actually agreed to work together.

The working arrangement

There’s no long-term contract and no minimum term on anything. Monthly services are billed monthly, in advance, and almost all of them can be canceled at any time: tell us, and billing stops at the end of the current month.

Search is the one exception, and it takes sixty days’ written notice. That notice period exists for one reason. Search work is booked ahead: people, publishing schedules and outreach are committed to your account weeks before the month it belongs to, and unlike the other services it can’t be stopped and restarted without losing ground. Nothing else here works that way, so nothing else here asks for notice. You don’t have to explain why you’re leaving. A website build is billed once and has no monthly fee attached to it afterwards.

Where advertising is involved, you pay the platform directly for the ads. That money never passes through us, which means when you stop, it stops.

What belongs to you

Your website, your advertising accounts, your phone numbers and your data are yours. If you leave, they go with you. We don’t hold any of them as a reason for you to stay.

What we don’t promise

We don’t guarantee rankings or results, and we’d encourage you to be suspicious of anybody who does, including about why they can afford to. What we commit to is doing the work and reporting one number honestly: how many people called you and how many got in touch through your website.

Other people’s websites

Where we link out to somebody else, a government agency, a standards body, a search engine’s own documentation, we’re pointing at something worth reading, not vouching for everything on their site.
